Art and Technology Gatherings with UC3M

Art and Technology Gatherings with UC3M

This April, we have a wide range of activities on art, nature, innovation, and technology.

During the weekend of April 15, MolinoLab hosted an art and technology gathering where young people from Carlos III University in Madrid learned to put their knowledge into practice in a rural hackathon.

We organized various workshops on reading biometric data from plants, managing and processing that data, and sonifying it. The knowledge acquired was put into practice during the collaborative prototyping workshop. During this workshop, through different dynamics and exercises, participants designed, implemented, and installed a work relating art, nature, and technology. This work will be on permanent display at the MolinoLab facilities.

Around 20 students from different courses and degree programs, accompanied by their professor Alfredo Miralles, will participate in this event. Fernando Fernández @b1tdreamer and Joaquín Diaz Sotavento will facilitate the workshops and mentor the proper development of the work.

"During April, we are focusing on art and technology at MolinoLab as a space for artistic and cultural experimentation in rural areas. For three years, we have been working to transform this former livestock farm into a center for art, agroecology, and culture. The old water mill has already been converted into a museum of traditional agriculture by Valeriano Sánchez Torres and can also be visited during this month," says Fernando, a member of Molino Lab. "This space for art and technology is an open space, and more and more residents of Sanctis and the surrounding villages are coming to visit us," concludes Fernando.
