Warehouse renovation – Update 2024

While migrating content for MolinoLab's new website, I came across this post about the renovation of the warehouse and thought I'd update it, as it has changed a lot and we have achieved much of what we set out to do with this space. It is much better than we could have imagined. In order to keep the post intact, we created this other one with the update, the before and after of the warehouse and the MolinoLab studio.

This is the result at the end of summer 2024, the before and after of a warehouse full of farm equipment, junk, and tools that has been transformed into the epicenter of a space for artistic and cultural creation.

The rehabilitation process

Over the past four years, we have worked very hard to clean, repair, re-tile, build, rebuild, insulate, paint, and enjoy this space. We have developed many skills within those four walls. We have knocked down walls, removed tiles, welded, built walls, installed windows, laid tiles (both Arabic and mixed), laid floors, installed wooden flooring, etc.

Use and enjoyment of the space

There have also been countless workshops, creative sessions, meetings, talks, and performances held inside, with many more still to come. Many people have helped to make the warehouse what it is today, including the mingas with the group of rural women to clean and empty it, Manolo's teachings on masonry and welding, and the installation of new windows and beams with Salomé, Pablo, Guille, Joaku, Eva... Many friends did their bit to make it possible to enjoy a space like this.
