Last Saturday, October 26, creativity flooded the MolinoLab facilities with our Textile Printing workshop facilitated by artist Elisa Olivares Órdenes @sueno_mor. It was an incredible day where participants not only learned new techniques, but also gave their favorite garments a second life.
The Stamping Techniques We Explore
During the workshop, we immersed ourselves in the fascinating world of manual printing, experimenting with different tools and methods to achieve varied designs:
Printing with Linoleum Stamps: We experimented with stamps carved by hand using gouges/blades.
Wooden Stamps: We used complex designs created with laser cutting on wood, combining craftsmanship and technological precision for highly complex designs
3D-Printed Plastic: We used stamps designed and printed in 3D for durable matrices that can withstand prolonged use.
Stencil Technique: We explore the versatility of stencils to achieve sharp shapes and color schemes.
The main objective was to encourage reuse and personalization. It was exciting to see how T-shirts, bags, and other garments that they already had at home were transformed into pieces with their own style and artisanal value. Each participant also took home a gift stamp to continue experimenting!
